Scheduled maintenance

September 11, 2015

As part of the response to the ever increasing needs of our customers, we announce that on September 20th we will transfer all our equipment from Agios Stefanos Datacenter to the state-of-the-art Hellenic Exchanges S.A. datacenter, in a specially configured space for FORTHnet.

The duration of the maintenance window will be 00:01 - 06:59 (GTM+3). The service interruption concerns all our services which are provided from the particular datacenter (shared hosting, cloud servers, dedicated servers, colocation, domain management, etc.). The mentioned maintenance window is the maximum predicted service interruption, we expect the vast majority of the service to come back online a lot sooner. During the interruption your website or service will be offline. We do not expect any e-mail loss during that timeframe, since they will be delivered with a small delay when the service comes back online.

The Hellenic Exchanges datacenter has been constructed taking into account the most stringent international and implementing standards and is compatible with the basic design principles of Tier-4 standard by Uptime Institute. It is one of the safest buildings in Greece, since in the same building the Athens Stock Exchange is located. Along the key features are the following:

  • Total area of 1,500 sq.m.
  • Total power G/ 3,2 MVA
  • Construction components provide physical security. Perimeter wall, ceilings and floors of 50cm reinforced concrete providing protection even in cases of extreme events.
  • Particularly high and strict physical security levels (independent areas, multi-point control and personnel authentication, security personnel 24/7).
  • Very high levels of availability and redundancy (symmetrical construction of 2 fully independent / interconnected data centers in the same building) with double meet-me rooms for FORTHnet's circuits.
  • Automatic fire protection systems, air conditioning and security cameras.

Don't hesitate to contact us for any questions.
